Minority Front Women Circle Launch
The Minority Front and its member’s, together with the Party leader Mrs Shameen Thakur-Rajbansi to support, The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community in launching the Women Circle lead by Ms Farida Jalal on 19th May 2018, in Phoenix.
The purpose of the Women’s Circle is to provide a meeting for women where there is a shift from informal socialising or opinionated discussion into a receptive attitude of thoughtful speaking and deep listening, to one another. Women congregate to laugh, share, heal, care, grieve and spiritually connect in community. There is power, energy and solidarity fostered by support, creativity and sharing of ideas. The ripple effect positively impacts society at large, said Mrs Rajbansi.
The Minority Front is passionate about South Africa achieving all 17 sustainable Development Goals by 2030, especially Goal 5 which is Gender Equality. Mrs Rajbansi believes that the Women’s Circle will be a vehicle that can be used to change the world, by assisting ordinary women to deal with daily challenges of violence, rape, discrimination and various forms of abuse, on an equal platform.
Mrs Rajbansi hopes that this initiative will encourage as many people as possible to do their share to support the LGBT Community together with the rest of our women in our communities to resolve gender- relations problems.
The Minority Front will embark on launching more Women’s Circles in all areas in Kwa Zulu Natal.
