Hon Speaker, I hereby give notice that I shall move on the next sitting day of this Hon. House as follows:

Notice that the 21st February was celebrated as International Mother Tongue Day and South Africa is a democracy embracing diversity of linguistic groups.

This Hon. House resolves to call on the Hon. MEC of Education to make a public statement on the departments position on the fate of Eastern languages and the many Eastern language teachers, who now fear for their jobs.
