Hon Members, this was an interesting session, where participants showed maturity in the types of real issues on the ground and made recommendations which are majorly implementable.

The concern with foreign employers, the language barrier, their lack of knowledge of labour legislation in SA, are areas which needs intervention by way of workshops to ensure that the rights of SA workers is maintained.

What we must avoid is a situation where frustrated workers turn against their own unions, if we fail them.

The pre-visit by the PPP committee to prepare the various stakeholders resulted in a successful Workers Parliament in Newcastle.
