Thank you Hon. Speaker,
This debate by Hon. Boyce initiates thinking around streamlining various initiatives by government.
The recent report by the Public Service Commission on Thusong Service Centres in integrated service delivery is that these will speed up service delivery in a cost-effective manner but there must be one dedicated lead department in charge.
In KZN, we have the Operation Sukuma Sakhe Programme with ward based war rooms, which is similar; hence this approach of the community service centre programme may be a way to integrate fragmented ideas into standardised and uniform operations, giving quality services in South Africa.
For, the MF, the actual way forward, would be to design and then pilot the model, which should be done at National, with a lead department, absorbing war-rooms, one stop centres and Thusong centres functions, into a fully-fledged Community Service Centre (CSC)
Thank you.
