Hon Speaker, I hereby give notice that I shall move on the next sitting day of this Hon. House as follows,

Noting that, fireworks bursting forms a sacred part of the Hindu Diwali/Deepavali celebration,  further noting that the South African Constitution must be upheld by all levels of government, with respect to the right to religious practice.

This Hon. House resolves to call on the Hon. MEC for Local Government to review the fireworks policy in the Ethekwini Council with the aim to improving the policy in terms of safety guidelines.
