Hon Speaker, I shall move as follows,

Noting that, plastics are flooding our seas and by 2050 will “outnumber” fish. Therefore, UKZN’s School of Life Sciences’ attempted to ascertain how much plastic is washed out to sea,

Further noting that, the Floating Boom invention and the Duzi uMgeni Conservation Trust’s Plan to be adopted by the Ethekweni Municipality will, in future, serve as pilot project to be rolled out,

This Hon. House resolves to call on the Hon. MEC Zikalala to engage all role-players to formulate a plan to address this and other water pollution issues under SDG 14.
