The Minority Front is glad to announce its new initiative in selected public schools in deserving areas. Party Leader Mrs Shameen Thakur Rajbansi stated that, the Minority front has been working closely with schools and recognized basic needs of girl learners. For this reason the Minority Front is starting to distribute sanitary pads at selected schools in Phoenix, Chatsworth, Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas.
Mrs Rajbansi is passionate about South Africa achieving all 17 sustainable Development Goals by 2030
The Party believes in No Poverty/ Zero Hunger, Good health and well-being, Quality education and Gender Equality. This is the first step of practising what we preach, echoes party leader Mrs Shameen Thakur Rajbansi.
Gender Equality is a very important topic said Mrs Rajbansi because of her interactions with schools. She found out that many girls have no money to buy sanitary pads due to poverty and eventually end up not going to school or further dropping out, which affects their education levels. The Minority Front wishes to make a difference by addressing one issue at a time because many factors affect gender equality, whereby women do not achieve their full potential to contribute their full worth..
Mrs Rajbansi hopes that this initiative will encourage as many people as possible to do their share to empower young girls in attaining quality education and health.
