Vote 4 – Environmental Affairs Debate

Posted in: on 15/05/2018 | Categorised as ,

  1. Members, Hon. MEC
  2. I will focus on the current unsettling issue of the current “grass cutting” dilemma.
  3. The Minority Front agrees that decisions made with usages of public funding need to go under the various levels of administration.
  4. Our level of service delivery needs to be up held at all times, our residents need basic service delivery like maintained bushes and verges and treated roads.
  5. The Minority Front recommends that if we go through the various levels and discuss these issues correct budgeting and spending of these funds will be beneficial for everyone.
  6. As section 24 of the Constitution says everyone has the right to an environment that is not harmful to their health or well-being, leaving us in a position to take care of everyone equally. It’s good to change a street name but not good if the street has huge potholes.
  7. The environment should be protected for the benefit of present and future generations through reasonable measures as well as the image of this parliament.
  8. To prevent pollution and damage to natural resources to promote conservation; this is part of what we need to take care off. Let us also lead by example in our departments that it is vital to communicate and look at budget allocations and necessities.
  9. To ensure that natural resources are developed, while also promoting the justifiable economic and social development of people. This plan needs to be presented to the people and this HON. House.

Thank you

HON.S. Thakur-Rajbansi
