Over the years the Minority Front has always looked at ways to fulfil the basic needs of the community. MF representative Mr Pradhil Koblall went to the Tyburn Primary School on a site visit requested by community members and school staff. Mr Koblall met the acting principal, Dr Ramkelewan and members to discuss difficulties faced by the school. Mr P Koblall remarked that, Tyburn Primary is one of the Chatsworth schools with rich talent and top-notch academic results. Students have brought honour to the community by becoming the KZN Lego League Champions in 2014 while vanquishing several of the elitist secondary KZN schools, and competed in robotics competitions at national level.
The principal stated that, the erection of a R500, 000 on-site Aquaponics Food Plant by sponsors, UNISA, the Brightside Project and eThekwini Municipality were obtained due to the recognition of high achievements by the school. Although there the difficulties which they’re facing, staff still ensure that this project is taken care. However, due to lack of funds, there is no back up system in place to have the pumps run during electricity loadshedding. Mr Pradhil Koblall stated that he will assist the school in making it a safe and friendly environment for the learners and staff. MF leader, Mrs S Thakur-Rajbansi stated that the Minority Front has assisted Tyburn primary previously and is calling on local businesses to pitch in and help. She will also take up the school’s poor infrastructure issues with both the Department of Education and Public Works.
