Call for a General Debate on Human Rights Violations in South Africa

Hon Speaker, I shall move as follows,

Noting that, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and our Constitution assigns rights to citizens, emphasised in our NDP 2030,

Further noting that, we are battling to find solutions to inequality, unemployment and poverty. Hence, there is a real need to robustly engage on the letter versus the spirit of the law, in terms of future amendments to the South African Constitution,

This Hon. House resolves to call for a general debate on Human Rights violations in South Africa post democracy in thematically remembering the past and celebrating the future.
