Minority Front Leader, Mrs. S. Thakur-Rajbansi, spoke to students on the significance of performing Saraswati hawan and how this can help them.

Mrs. Rajbansi mentioned that Ma Saraswati is the goddess of learning, wisdom, knowledge, fine arts and science and technology. She added that aside from gaining knowledge, the hawan sharpens the intellect, improves memory and assists with solutions for research oriented questions. It enhances learning skills and helps build confidence.

Honouring Ma Saraswati improves speech by adding clarity, truth and beauty. It enhances art and music of both the performer and dancer and it provides expression to perform without fear or manipulation, she said.

Mrs. Rajbansi reminded the students to work hard as the goddess rewards those who are hardworking and committed to their studies. She mentioned that the invocation of Ma Saraswati removes ignorance and inertia from one’s mind and heart, therefore allowing for  inner vision to deal with our challenges with wisdom, adaptability and light.

She reiterated that, honouring Ma Saraswati requires that we respect and promote learning, not just to pass tests or memorise information, but to allow our lives to mirror an enduring creative inspiration.
