The Minority Front has been on the forefront of assisting the community on various matters arising due to the COVID 19 pandemic throughout the year. The Minority Front annually distributes food hampers for the Easter, Diwali and Christmas period. Many vulnerable families and individuals were left with no food or income due to job losses and lockdown restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hon. Shameen Thakur-Rajbansi wished the community well over the festive period and urged the community and all South African citizens to adhere to all COVID-19 protocols and regulations now that the second wave is upon us.
Mrs Rajbansi stated that, “This virus is deadly and is spreading faster than ever before. We need to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of our loved ones, especially the elderly. We must treat everyone that we come into contact with as if they are COVID-19 positive and hence we must ensure social distancing, wearing a mask, hand washing and sanitising. Our health is paramount to see us through the New Year. Remember “God helps those who help themselves”. May the Great Lord Jesus bless us all”.
