The Sastri Park library us amongst several within the city to benefit from the upgrading project which will see various libraries receive infrastructure development.

Minority Front Councillor, Jonathan Annipen, said that the project is welcomed but a more effective aim would be to upgrade the resources in libraries which will reap greater rewards.

“If the city is serious about developing communities it would invest in resources that will promote more visits at local facilities and increase membership at these libraries. While the MF welcomes the infrastructural development, it will not be sufficient to attract more youth to make use of the facility. What will, is providing up to date material, state of the IT equipment and broadband. May young people do not have access to internet and computer center is each library will be most beneficial.”
