Urgent: Career Assistance, Vocational Guidance

Minority Front Community

My name is Nokuthula Gwamanda. I work for an NGO called Harambee.

We help the youth that have Matric and not employed. We go out there and find the youth and assess them. As they answer questions in the computer they automatically profile themselves.

We have four industries that we deal with at the moment. Retail (Pick n Pay, Woolworths, Save); Call Centre (Cell C, Cora Call, R Dally); Hospitality (Nando’s, Burger King, Ster-Kinekor) and Transnet.

There are processes that the candidates go through. Our main objective is to bridge the gap between the inexperienced candidate and the employer. We prepare them for the interviews and send them to the employers. We do not guarantee jobs but we do guarantee a job opportunity.

All this is done FREE OF CHARGE.

We have been struggling to get through to the Indian community hence I have decided to communicate with you. We do not want to be seen as biased, as Harambee is meant for every young person who is struggling for employment.

As I mentioned on the phone, we will be running assessments on Monday in Phoenix. The venue is yet to be confirmed. All I am asking you to do, is to get me the details of the youth who are not working.

Unfortunately, we only have today and tomorrow to do this.
