- The Minority Front supports the conferral of KZN’s mandate for the Expropriation Bill to the NCOP.
- This bill entails the critical issue of transformation in land use and has been widely consulted as it is in public interest to repeal outdated laws and replace these with progressive legislation that speaks to a democratic South Africa, where compensation and nil – compensation are included, which now makes for good regulations in respect of section 25(4) to 8 and 36 of the Constitution.
- This bill is crucial for the development of South Africa, as we need to remove stumbling blocks that keeps us classified as a developing country. Hence, a land audit is also imperative for a baseline for implementation of this bill.
- The Minority Front supports the Expropriation Bill with the above explanations.
- Thank you.
