The Minority Front (MF) is pleased to announce that Party Leader, Shameen Thakur Rajbansi will stand as the Mayoral Candidate for the eThekwini Metro Municipality in the 2026 Local Government Elections.
Mrs. Thakur Rajbansi served the public for 25 years in the KZN Legislature, beginning her political career early in life. Her long-standing commitment to community upliftment, accountability, and responsive governance has earned her the trust of countless families, faith-based groups, cultural organisations, and community structures across KwaZulu-Natal.
Although she did not contest the 2024 General Elections, she continues to assist communities and organisations, demonstrating that her dedication to service is constant and driven by genuine care for the people.
“The MF is focused on restoring trust in local government and ensuring that service delivery reaches all communities”, said Mrs. Thakur Rajbansi. “I am honoured to accept this nomination by all party members and ready to work with the people of eThekwini to build a municipality that is fair, accountable, and centred on community needs.”
The Minority Front is recruiting Ward Councillor candidates for the 2026 elections.
