Hon Speaker, I shall move as follows,

Noting the KZN drought impact on child and older persons health, whilst plagued with sanitation issues; especially in rural areas,

Further noting the economic toll and associated knock-on effect of delayed crops,

This Hon House calls on the Hon MEC of COGTA, to prioritise budgets for water harvesting methods, such as aquifer recharge and groundwater replenishment as a matter of urgency and to partner with higher education institutions and sponsor research in this regard.
