Hon Speaker, I shall move as follows,

Noting that, the recent deaths at Addington Hospital attributed to non-functional radiotherapy machines and scanners with similar problems at other public institutions,

Further noting that, the projected sizeable overspend this financial year suggests weak management in some areas and; serious procurement lapses which compromises patient’s health rights to life-saving radiotherapy treatment,

This Hon. House resolves to call on the Hon MEC Dhlomo to re-align the Department’s budget and other resources for oncology demands at hospitals and introduce prudent SCM measures to ensure safety in patient care, as part of the department’s rationalisation process.
