Register To Vote For One You Know
The 9th and 10th of April 2016 is the final voter registration weekend as set out by the electoral commission of SA. This, points to the fact that, the 2016 LGE are fast approaching and so we will see many a new faces. The reality is that, like every election we all will be looking for change and every politician will be promising it. We will be fools if we vote for the same person who promised us change in the last election and failed to deliver it. Previous office bearers have failed us dismally and the government of the day hasn’t helped much.
We will see the faces and hear the voices of political leaders we last saw and heard of, some five years ago. They will attempt to pull the wool over the eyes of the unsuspecting and naïve with cheap entertainment, mudslinging and political theatrics. This time it will take more than song and dance to get votes.
The time has come to shut the door on political entities that promise the world but are too distant from the realities of struggles that people face from day to day. We cannot court politicians that have no interest in the people that elect them to public office. We need dedicated, reliable and dependable leaders who are willing to go the extra mile for their constituents.
This is a call, don’t let this weekend pass you in ignorance. Be show to play your part in shaping your future. Let’s rid local government of the indiscriminant, corrupt element that exists through office bearers. It starts by registering to vote and then by making the right choice when you do vote.
