1. The Minority Front supports the Housing Consumer Protection Bill.
2. This bill provides the environment and support structures for registering and regulating homebuilders because many contracts are verbal and this is where the problems lie or even contracts which are drafted to protect the homebuilders and not the consumer.
3. With the enforcement of this Act should come templates of consumer protective contracts by the National Home Builders Registration Council based on the amendments herein.
4. This bill will also align progress made last year in the passing of other types of housing legislation like that of body corporates.
5. The MF supports this bill.
