Adjustments Estimates Bill 2015

Thank you Hon MEC Scott.

For 1 minute, I will concentrate on the Provincial Drought Relief Programme, Hon. MEC, my calculations shows that the Umkhanyakude District Municipality, in total receives R123,5 million , whilst the rest of KZN, gets R375,5 million leaving aside, smaller amounts allocated for specific activities by either environmental or Human Settlements.

Because Hon. Members currently, we must remember that KZN’s finance, MEC, is actually the Drought.

Our economy, environment and human and animal survival depends on water management; hence the allocated budgets must have planned use, which must be tracked by committee control.

We would all expect, a report by Hon. MEC Scott at the end of this financial year, what has been achieved by various allocations to mitigate the severe impact of the drought and more positive media exposure about what the Province is doing to assist because, weekly articles appear about human and animal strife.

The MF supports the Adjustment Estimates Bill, 2015.

Thank you.
