President Jacob Zuma has announced that Local Government Election will take place on August 3rd 2016. This however is not an official proclamation. It is expected that the Minister of Coperative Governance and Traditional Affairs will proclaim the date sometime in May, at which point the voters roll will close.
This means that unregistered voters have a limited time to update their status.
The Minority Front is creating a platform to allow unregistered voters an opportunity to get registered, check their registration status and update their details.
“We are encouraging no-registered voters who are 16 years and older who have a valid South African Identity Document to visit our offices so that we can help them complete an online registration. We are making an earnest appeal for young people to come out and get registered. Interested persons can contact our offices from Monday to Saturday or by calling on 031 500 7580.”
